Information Regarding Algae Bloom in Apple Valley

Minimize

Apple Valley has received a few questions regarding the possibility of Apple Valley Lake having harmful algae bloom that has affected several ponds and lakes in Ohio this year.  The most talked about lake is Grand Lake St. Marys that has made their area unsafe for recreational activities.

Bill Lynch from the OSU Extension who has been very involved with this throughout the State of Ohio has visited our lake recently to evaluate the water conditions.  In past years Bill was part of the electro shocking to study the quantity and quality of the fish and is familiar with our lake.  He found no evidence of any harmful algae bloom in the lake.
